Importance & Scope:

The purpose of Restorative & Alternative Medicine is to restore the delicate balance of system functions to achieve optimal health. With this goal, Restorative Medicine enhances healthy aging and promotes vitality and longevity. By reaching beyond simple symptomatic relief, alternative medicine explores the root cause of disease with the purpose of halting tissue degeneration and optimizing cellular, endocrine and metabolic function. Restorative Medicine is patient-specific rather than disease-specific. By working with the biological individuality of the patient, a path is cleared to re-create balance and promote healthy aging.

Presently, majority of treatments available for degenerative or life-threatening diseases do not provide a cure or are palliative. Several others just postpone the progress of the disease. In contrary, Restorative medicines have the capability to replace or regenerate the tissues and organs suffering from injury or disease. These medicines find application in wide range of degenerative disorders and have proven to be efficient in many of the applications. Therefore, in-depth study of this market would provide an overall understanding of the market along with the growth opportunities in this field. The insights on applicable technologies and geographies would help the stakeholders in formulating strategic decisions.

Track 1: Dental Surgery and Implants

Dental implants are replacements for the root parts of teeth. They are placed directly into the jawbone. Natural-looking crowns or dentures are attached to the implants to form the tooth Replantation system, which can be a simple crown or a larger bridge. This can happen immediately or several weeks later, depending on your case. After the implant integrates (attaches) to your bone, it acts as a new "root" for the crown that will replace your missing tooth. A crown (cap), which is made to look like a natural tooth, is attached to the dental implant  and fills the space left in the mouth by the missing tooth. For this procedure to work there must be enough bone in the jaw. The bone has to be strong enough to hold and support the implant. If there is not enough bone, it may need to be added with a procedure called bone augmentation or bone grafting. In addition, natural human teeth and supporting tissues near where the implant will be placed must be in good health. Most dental implants are successful, and there are a few steps you can take to help ensure success and make your implant last. They are: Practice good oral hygiene, quit smoking, visit your dentist, and avoid chewing on hard foods etc.

Track 9: Hormonal Therapy for Endocrinal disorders

Endocrine disorders are diseases related to the endocrine glands of the body. The endocrine system produces hormones, which are chemical signals sent out, or secreted, through the bloodstream. Hormones help the body regulate processes, such as appetite, breathing, growth, fluid balance, feminization and virilization, and weight control. Hormone therapy or hormonal therapy is the use of hormones in medical treatment. Treatment with hormone antagonists may also referred to as hormonal therapy or antihormone therapy. The most general classes of hormone therapy are oncologic hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy, of which there are various kinds. Availability of hormonal replacement offers new treatment modalities, an understanding of their mechanism of action and pharmacologic characteristics is crucial to maximize their effectiveness while minimizing possible untoward effects. In this session we are going to discuss more about types, causes, testings of endocrine disorders and how the hormonal therapy is suitable to treat the endocrinal disorders to restore the health.

Track 12: Traditional Medicine

Traditional medicine (TM) has a long history of experience and proven successful treatment for chronic diseases and has also played an important role in the provision of health care. Patients with chronic diseases are happy to accept TM and physicians are willing to use TM to relieve patients suffering from chronic illnesses. TM products are an essential part of medications that have a predominant role in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. TM is considered to have a better safety profile compared to pharmaceutical chemicals, but inappropriate applications of TM also makes the safety issues a hot discussed subject. As a medical system, TM should be able to provide worldwide contribution for the patients who are suffering from chronic diseases. The application of TM pattern classification in diagnosis with corresponding prescribed treatment using herbal formulae in the relief of chronic diseases can be linked with modern biomedical parameters (biomarkers) as treatment outcomes.

Track 13: Yoga and Physical therapy

Yoga is the practice of attaining physical and mental health through meditation and physical exercise. Yoga and Physical Therapy combines the principles and practices of yoga with physical therapies to achieve our desired outcomes. In a recent research study, the largest of its kind to date, Yoga proves to be more effective than traditional exercise science or an educational booklet for patients with chronic low back pain. In general, the practice of Yoga is associated with an individual who is "healthy," and "normal." Yoga thus is applied as more of a "preventive" practice rather than a "restorative" or "rehabilitative" one. Common physical therapy goals of enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, sequencing, motor control, kinesthetic senses, posture and alignment can be impacted with the judicious use of Yoga and certain yogic principles. It is quite clear that the art and science of Yoga could be an amazing and powerful tool that can be applied by physical therapists to help patients reach their goals, and to provide a lasting solution to many physical ailments. Used in conjunction with manual therapy, modalities and other physical therapy procedures, Yoga can be a "natural health fitness" in its various aspects, and may be applied in some or all of the rehab stages of a patient.  In addition, the feeling of well-being and other mental benefits are welcome "side effects" of this procedure!

Track 14: Health care and Restorative products

The human body’s ability to adapt, protect, and heal itself is incredible. Restorative Medicine is one kind that helps us to restore our health by natural medicines. There are many pharmaceutical companies working on the restorative medicine. Many of the companies are working by using natural products and that convert into capsules. While the achievements of modern medicine are vast, the system is flawed.  Practitioners continue to focus on suppressing symptoms versus addressing causes, leaving many patients vulnerable to repeated and/or chronic illness, with little hope of lasting recovery.

Track 15: Emergency and Internal Medicine

The Internal medicine covers a wide range of conditions affecting the internal organs of the body - the heart, the lungs, the liver and gastro-intestinal tract, the kidneys and urinary tract, the brain, spinal column, nerves, muscles and joints. Emergency medicine is a medical specialty involving care for undifferentiated, unscheduled patients with acute illnesses or injuries that require immediate medical attention. International Emergency Medicine is now its own subspecialty, and focuses not only on the global practice of emergency medicine but also on efforts to promote the growth of emergency care throughout the world. This session highlights the development of emergency medicine, and includes some aspects of Emergency medicine.
